Mechatronics: Investigations in Math and Engineering @ LaGuardia Community College

Renewable energy sources, such as solar power, are a hot topic now, with government and industry looking for more environmentally friendly sources of power. If you have an interest in engineering and solar energy, you don’t want to miss the new Mechatronics summer program.

You will spend part of the program in Math 115 - Intermediate Algebra & Trigonometry (3 credits) and the rest of it getting hands-on research experience in a solar lab learning about electricity and the engineering behind solar energy.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a New York City public high school student, entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade in September 2009
  • Have passed the Math A Regents or the Integrated Algebra Regents with a 75% or better AND
  • Have a strong record of attendance
