Summer Programs 2009
College Now @ John Jay College of Criminal Justice
Poets for Justice Summer Institute
Have you ever thought poetry could be radical–that it could bring about social change?
This summer, see the many sides of spoken word poetry and hip-hop as you study the history of the form, get hands-on experience writing and recording an album, and learn what it takes to make it in the music business. Get inspired at a special performance and lecture by legendary poet Amiri Baraka.
Whether you are a poet interested in the history and business of hip-hop or an aspiring producer who wants to get in touch with their creative side, the Poets for Justice Summer Institute has something for everyone.
