Summer Programs 2009
College Now @ Queensborough Community College

Summer Music Studio

Have you ever dreamed of writing your own songs, playing in a band, or recording your own music? Then the Queensborough Community College Summer Music Studio may be for you.

The Summer Music Studio combines a college-credit course on recording studio and MIDI technology with small afternoon workshops for writing and rehearsing songs, then mixing and recording them for your music portfolio. For the culminating project, you will work by your self and with your classmates to create a piece of music that will be presented on the last day of class.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a New York City public high school student, entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in September 2009
  • Have a minimum score of 65 on the English Language Arts (ELA) Regents exam OR an overall high school GPA of 70 or above
  • Have an interest in music (all skill levels welcome)

Students coming from Queensborough Community College partner schools will be given priority, but eligible students from other public schools may attend if space permits.
