The text is too small (or too big) on my screen. How can I change it?
In most cases, you'll see
at the top of the upper right side of each of our pages.
Clicking on the smallest 'A' will change the text size to its smallest setting; clicking on the largest 'A' will change the text to its largest setting.
If your browser is set to accept cookies, your preferred text size will appear on each CN web page you visit. If you're not set up to accept cookies, you will need to re-size each page as you visit it. If you're wondering what on earth this paragraph means, check out our cookies page.
Note: In some cases, you may not see the Text Re-size tool. If you want to see it—and other cool things on this site—you'll need to turn on JavaScript. (JavaScript is a programming language that helps make web pages more interactive.) Weather.com has an excellent tutorial on how to turn on JavaScript.
I'm looking for something specific on this website. How do I find it?
If you know the exact word or phrase:
Type it in the search box below or in the search box that appears near the top of every page. (Click in the box to type. When you're done, click the Search button.)
Otherwise, try these strategies:
- Position your mouse over the large circular "stops" on our home page. This will bring up a brief description of what lies inside each major section of our site.
- Use our site map to view all College Now sections (and subsections) at once.
- Visit our FAQ (Frequenty Asked Questions) page. What you are looking for may already be answered there.
- If you still can't find what you need, contact us.
How do I navigate this website?
Except for the home page, each page on our site has both a horizontal navigation bar (to skip between main sections of the site) and a vertical navigation bar (to navigate within a particular section).

Note: In some cases, you may not see the arrows at all. If you want to see them—and other cool things on this site—you'll need to turn on JavaScript. (JavaScript is a programming language that helps make web pages more interactive.) Weather.com has an excellent tutorial on how to turn on JavaScript.
Some links on this website are marked [PDF]. What are PDFs and how can I view them?
PDFs are pages specifically designed for printing out. Most of the PDFs on our site are applications that you can print, fill out, and mail somewhere.
To view a PDF page, you need some kind of PDF Reader software on your computer. Usually this software comes preloaded on your computer, so when you click on a PDF link it opens just like any other page.
If, however, you are having problems opening PDFs, you can get the software for free. The most popular PDF software is Acrobat Reader; get it from Adobe's website. If you use the Firefox browser, you might prefer Foxit Reader; get it at the Foxit website.
By the way, PDF stands for Portable Document Format.
What are cookies and why does your site use them?
Cookies help a website "remember" things about you. They are text files sent by the website you're visiting for storage on your computer's hard drive.
The College Now site sends you cookies if:
- You search for a college-credit course or summer program.
- You choose to make the text on this site larger or smaller with our Text Resize tool. (In some cases only. See this question for details.)
We do NOT use cookies to track how you navigate or to personally identify you. In fact, the cookie that stores the subject areas and/or colleges you select during the course search is immediately deleted when you close your browser or start a new search.
