2012 Myself Third Spirit of New York Awards Ceremony
This year’s Myself Third: Spirit of New York Scholarship Awards ceremony was held at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice’s Exhibition Hall, part of the college’s new state-of-the-art building located on 59th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues. During the ceremony on June 13, 2012, Mr. Robert Friedman, along with his wife Linda, were joined by NYC DOE’s Deputy Executive Director from the Office of Postsecondary Readiness, Julian Cohen, and Senior University Dean for Academic Affairs, John Mogulescu, to present ten (10) $5,000 Myself Third Scholarship awards and one $2,500 Alumni Spirit award to this year’s winners.

Additionally the recipients, their families, friends, teachers and high school liaisons were greeted by Jeremy Travis, the President of John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Over a dozen Myself Third Alumni, College Now campus coordinators and administrators were in attendance as well. The Myself Third program is administered by CUNY’s College Now program and provides scholarships to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to serving others.
