"Stephen truly exemplifies the qualities we as teachers value most in our students. Stephen's consistent and well-planned study/work skills have enabled him to be among the top of his Chemistry class. He is very dedicated in his approach to school academics and learning. He knows what he wants and attempts to get it by directing and channeling his energies in an efficient manner. Stephen's greatest attributes are his maturity and dedication. This, I feel, sets him apart from the majority of students I have known. Stephen is also a young individual who finds the time to give back."

Excerpts from Stephen's Essay
In 1961, J.F. Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." In this connection, in spite of my overloaded junior year, I volunteered and found time to participate in an Art Seminar which took place in Manhattan. Later, I joined other students to take on the challenge of tutoring students in need of help in the arts field. Apart from this, I functioned as a member of the ARISTA program launched at school with a view to have willing students that possess planning and organizational skills, to help during special school occasions or functions. On special holidays like Thanksgiving, members delivered food and materials to the needy – especially the elderly. I am exceedingly glad to be a part of this community service. Nothing makes me happier than the smiles on the faces of those for whom these services are provided.
