"I have found Anston Roberts to be a very respectful and courteous young man. Anston has made an excellent showing for himself in and out of the classroom. At Aviation he is a member of the Honor society and Pegasus society as well as being a member of the Aviation Robotics team and golf team. Anston has also found the time to do volunteer work at Long Island College Hospital and do an internship at Cooper Union in NYC. Excerpts from Anston's Essay
I would say that my volunteering in the Seventh Day Adventist Pathfinder Club has been one of my most meaningful experiences. I am a counselor in this club where I lead a class of teenagers ages 14-16 through course work and various fun activities with a religious base. I have truly enjoyed volunteering with this club and providing a role model for young kids growing up in my church and community. I have been able to go on camping trips and share my knowledge both academic and practical with them. I not only had countless hours of fun, but I have gained leadership experience that I know will benefit me in the future.
I have learned that in order to receive one must first be willing to give. Not only give in material things, but in so many other ways such as your time and energy. I have learned that to help others is to help yourself, to bring joy to others brings joy to oneself, and to help your fellow man is to realize your obligated purpose.
