Excerpts from Pamela's Essay

Living in a free and democratic society means having equal rights, being allowed to participate in political decisions and having the liberty to engage in certain actions or activities without interference…. Citizens have the right to choose their officials, create or administer programs for the well-being of our people and formulate laws. This has motivated me to organize a youth group in the future, to make change in our community and lead teenagers towards a better way of life. It is my passion to be surrounded by teenagers, to converse, to know and to counsel them. I feel very excited when I have the opportunity to teach them.

Being a lead choir singer has been very satisfying to me. I enjoy making an impact in people's lives by sharing positive lyrics that encourage them to move forward. As I teach my community through [these] lyrics, I am learning at the same time. I have learned to demonstrate humility. I believe that in order to be successful in all areas of our lives, we need to be humble. This quality can open many doors.
