Welcome to NYCSEF!
2009 NYCSEF APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE!!
The New York City Science and Engineering Fair (NYCSEF), sponsored by the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) and the City University of New York (CUNY) / Office of Academic Affairs, is the city's largest high school research competition. Each year, several hundred high school students from throughout the five boroughs of New York City present their research projects to expert judges and compete for a variety of prizes. The NYCSEF is an Intel International Science and Engineering Fair-affiliated regional fair.
CUNY College Now is pleased to organize this event in collaboration with the NYCDOE Department of Math and Science. College Now is a comprehensive initiative between CUNY and the NYCDOE that prepares public high school students for college. Students from nearly 300 public high schools participate in College Now programs each year, and the NYCSEF presents an exciting opportunity for College Now to collaborate with students and teachers throughout the city.
This year's Preliminary Round will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at The City College of New York (Manhattan). The top 25 percent of student researchers from each subject category will be selected to participate in the Finals Round in early April (location TBD). Approximately 20 students will be selected to represent New York City in May at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Reno, NV.
