The Criminal Justice Institute will use a combination of classroom instruction, seminar, real-world testimonials of working professionals, and hands-on activities including Crime Scene Investigation Unit and a moot court competition to expose students to the historical and contemporary workings of the criminal justice system.  

Eligibility Requirements

• Be a New York City public high school student, entering 11th or 12th grade in September 2013
• Have a minimum grade point average of 85 in English for students entering 11th grade, or 75+ on the ELA Regents for students entering 12th grade
• Students not meeting academic requirements but who express strong interest in the program will be granted an opportunity to interview for program openings

• Students coming from John Jay College partner schools will be given priority, but eligible students from other public schools may attend if space permits.
