Environmental Science Program

Do you ever think about how climate change, industrial waste and even wildlife may impact the health of people living in New York City? If so, come to Medgar Evers this summer and study environmental health issues in your community. In this program you will visit and learn at various sites in Brooklyn and beyond, conduct and present supervised laboratory and field research and hear and participate in panel discussions by science experts.
July 7 – August 11, 2014
Monday through Thursday
9:00 AM to 3:15 PM
Three college credits upon successful completion.

Metrocards and lunch vouchers provided

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a New York City public high school student, entering 11th or 12th grade in September 2014
  • Have a minimum overall high school GPA of 75 AND a science/math GPA and Regents score of 75+
  • Have AT LEAST ONE of the following:
    • a minimum score of 75 on the English Regents Exam (ELA) OR
    • a minimum score of 500 on the SAT verbal/critical reading section
    • Students coming from Medgar Evers College partner schools will be given priority, but eligible students from other public schools may attend if space permits.
