College Now @ Bronx Community College

Immigration and Ethnicity

Stories of America and the Bronx

This program combines a three (3) college credit American history course with a workshop dedicated to the production of a short documentary related to the immigrant experience in American history.  Two field trips--one to the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and the other to Ellis Island--will bring life to the materials students will be exposed to.  Student documentaries will bring the rich and varied experience of so many who sacrificed so much to make their way to America's shores, telling their viewers a little about themselves in the process.
