College Now @ York College

Summer Aviation Program

Let your interest in aviation really take off at York's College Now Summer Aviation Program. You'll learn about the field of aviation business by working on theme based projects, trips to aviation sites, and even an opportunity to pilot a plane. Meet professionals in the field and visit their workplaces at air traffic control facilities, commercial airlines, and other locations around the city's airports. During the summer, you'll also be enrolled in BUS 230: Introduction to Aviation Business (3 credits).
July 8 – August 15, 2013
Monday through Thursday
9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Three college credits upon successful completion.

Metrocards and lunch vouchers provided

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a New York City public high school student, entering 12th grade in September 2013
  • Have AT LEAST ONE of the following:
    • a minimum score of 75 on the English Language Arts (ELA) Regents exam OR
    • a minimum score of 500 on the SAT verbal/critical reading section AND
    • a HS average of 80+
  • Express interest in the field of aviation
    • Students coming from York College partner schools will be given priority, but eligible students from other public schools may attend if space permits.
