Summer Health Professions Academy

Qualified nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and other "frontline" healthcare workers are in high demand in today's economy.

Lehman College's Summer Health Professions Academy is an excellent opportunity to explore these careers through college-level research and coursework. You will earn college credit for the course, HIN 269: Analysis and Action for Community Health, as well as practical experience in real-world hospital settings during afternoon field work.

July 9 – August 15, 2008
Monday through Thursday
9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
3 college credits upon successful completion

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a New York City public high school student, entering 11th or 12th grade in September 2008
  • Have a minimum overall high school GPA of 80
  • Have AT LEAST ONE of the following:
    • a minimum score of 75 on the English Regents Exam (ELA) or
    • a minimum score of 480 on the SAT verbal/critical reading section or
  • Have passed all math, science, and history Regents exams required for graduation
  • Not required to attend summer school

Students coming from Lehman College partner schools will be given priority, but eligible students from other public schools may attend if space permits.
