Summer Multimedia Arts Academy

The Lehman College Summer Multimedia Arts Academy offers high school students the opportunity to study with the Lehman College faculty in the multimedia arts, theatre and multimedia journalism on the Lehman College campus and get “hands on” experience with audio-visual productions and on-line journalism. Students will be able to explore these new forms of social media which are becoming more dominant in our culture and changing the traditional forms of mass communication. Courses offered include: ART112: Introduction to Digital Imaging; FTS 224: Editing; JRN 221: Reporting I; THE235: Stagecraft; THE241: The Art of the Theatre and THE 200: Workshop.
July 5 to August 9, 2016
Monday through Thursday
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Up to four (4) college credits upon successful completion.

Metrocards and lunch vouchers provided.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a New York City public high school student, entering 11th or 12th grade in September 2016
  • Have a minimum overall high school GPA of 80
  • Have AT LEAST ONE of the following:
    • a minimum score of 75 on the English Regents Exam (ELA) OR
    • a minimum score of 480 on the SAT verbal/critical reading section
  • Have passed all math, science, and history Regents exams required for graduation
  • Not required to attend summer school
    • Students coming from Lehman College partner schools will be given priority, but eligible students from other public schools may attend if space permits.
