Summer Science Academy

Considering a science degree? Get a head start at the Summer Science Academy. Choose BIO 166: Principles of Biology- Cells and Genes (6 hours, 4 credits), GEP 205: Principles of Geographic Information Science (3 credits), OR CHE 166/167: General Chemistry 1 and Laboratory (5 credits). Biology and Chemistry are prerequisites for premedical, preveterinary, and predental programs, and physics is a foundation for studying engineering. Mornings will be spent in a lecture, and afternoons working in Lehman's state-of-the-art science labs. These six week intensives will prepare you for rigor of college science courses, and help you get on track to complete your degree.

9:30 AM to 2:45 PM
Three (3) to five (5) college credits (depending on course) upon successful completion.

Metrocards and lunch vouchers provided.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a New York City public high school student, entering 12th grade in September 2014
  • Students must submit SAT scores and HS Transcript with ELA Regents of 75+; LE Regents of 75+; Chemistry Regents of 75+; two Math Regents scores (75+ on one and 65+ on another) AND overall HS average of 80+.
  • CHE 166/167 - students must also take the departmental chemistry placement exam.
