Summer Programs

College Now @ Hunter College

Summer Science Institute

Spend this summer at Hunter's College Now Arts and Sciences Institute and you will:

  • Earn college credit in math or science by taking rigorous classes and labs that you ordinarily wouldn't have the time for during the regular academic year.
  • Expand your horizons with non-credit correlating workshop in the subject of your choice.
  • Become familiar and comfortable with a college campus: its facilities, staff, and students.

You may choose from:

  1. CHEM100/101 Essentials of General Chemistry and Lab;
  2. COMHE330 Principles of Epidemiology;
  3. GEOL105 Introduction to Environmental Geosciences;
  4. PHYS100/101 Basic Concepts of Physics and Lab;
  5. STAT113 Elementary Probability & Statistics
July 17 to August 17, 2017
Monday through Thursday
9:30 AM to 1:50 or 3:50 PM, depending on courses chosen
Up to 4.5 college credits upon successful completion.

Metrocards and lunch vouchers provided.

Eligibility Requirements

Be a New York City public high school student, entering 11th or 12th grade in September 2017

Epidemiology, Physics, and Chemistry
  • RISING 11TH GRADERS: 26+ PSAT Reading or 480 on PSAT EBRW
  • RISING 12TH GRADERS: 80+ ELA Regents Exam or 480 on PSAT EBRW or 480 on SAT EBRW
  • AND
  • RISING 11TH GRADERS: 530+ Math PSAT
  • RISING 12TH GRADERS: 80+ a Math Regents Exam or 530 on Math PSAT or 530 on Math SAT

Geology
  • RISING 11TH GRADERS: 26+ on PSAT Reading or 480 on PSAT EBRW
  • RISING 12TH GRADERS: 80+ on ELA Regents Exam or 480 on PSAT EBRW or 480 on SAT EBRW

Statistics
  • RISING 12TH GRADERS: 80 on Math Regents Exam and be on track to pass the last semester of a 3yr math sequence, or 530 on Math SAT. Placement exam also required.
