Thinking Critically about Education: HUP102
CUNY and the NYC DOE want YOU!
There are currently 16,000 students enrolled in Teacher Education programs throughout CUNY.
Why not consider joining them…
In this summer program, you will learn the skills of a critical thinker and apply those skills to a reflection on education. The Foundations of Education readings and discussions will introduce you to such social justice issues as race, class, school achievement, and equity in education. Your interviews with students in LaGuardia’s CUNY Language Immersion program (CLIP) will allow you to think about effective education from both the American and the global perspective. You will also engage in a weekly conflict resolution workshop where you will gain insights into yourself, your personal strengths and your underlying goals. Our panel discussion will help you understand your options for a creative, socially relevant and fulfilling career.
